Mikesmiles answered to question Ephesians 4:11-13 Edification of the Church: Do you believe there are modern day prophets? 1 year ago
Re: Ephesians 4:11-13 Edification of the Church: Do you believe there are modern day prophets?
I do. Edification of the church does not qualify as a prophet though in my mind. A prophet points forward to what God is about to do. We are called to judge the prophet to see if they are a true… -

Since I do not have an ex wife, I will answer with ex girlfriends. It would be easier to ask my ex for help than a stranger because we already have a friendship. -

If you have ever had a large tree hanging over your house, you understand that it can be pretty concerning. If that tree were to fall, it would have terrible consequences to your house and possibly to your family.
Spiritually, this tree is a lot like bad decisions in our life. Adultery, pornography, theft, idolatry to mention a few are like…[Read more] -

I certainly did not wish to get into an “I am right and you are wrong” discussion with you, so I will leave it as it is.
I do hope you have a wonderful Christmas season!

Please do not assume that just because someone does not agree with your version of scripture that they are “ignorant”. It gives you an air of arrogance that is not becoming and will not have the effect that you are hoping to have (which is to draw people to Christ).

Of course I do not believe that Jesus was drunk or that John the Baptist was demon possessed, but the reason that they used those particular claims to try to defame them was because they appeared that they could be true. It would be pretty hard to get people to believe that Jesus was a drunk if he never ever drank a drop of wine. Most of us h…[Read more]

Yes, absolutely! But only to the extent that they agree. Jesus prayed that we would be in perfect unity as He was with the Father. Pastors are fallible humans just like the rest of us. Sometim…

As we enjoy this Christmas season, I am thinking about how God gave His very BEST gift to me in his Son, Jesus and it makes me smile. It makes me feel warm and loved! I enjoy giving also, and I am desiring to give God something of myself that would cause Him to smile!
I encourage you, as you go through this season, purpose in your heart to…[Read more] -

The phrase in 2 Peter 2: 7-8 about how “Lot, a righteous man, vexed his soul” has been rolling around in my thoughts. I found myself saying it over and over again….”Lot, a righteous man, vexed his soul”. Vexed means troubled or distressed. So what this is really saying is that Lot chose! It doesn’t say that somebody else distressed Lot’s sou…[Read more]

In John 5 we learn about a man who was sitting by the pool of Bethesda. Jesus entered a crowd of people (who were all there hoping for a healing), and sought out a man who had been ill for a very long time. Jesus says to him “do you want to be healed”? To which he responds with a “lame excuse” (I cannot do it on my own). To which Jesus res…[Read more]

I wonder why they called Jesus a wine bibber then? It certainly was not because he drank too much grape juice.
Luke 7:34 The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Behold, a gluttonous man and a heavy drinker, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’Jesus was teaching a new way of thinking.
