Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost: Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained. Jn.20:22-23

I think when Jesus said this, He meant His Holy Spirit can forgive any offense, so be ready to forgive everyone who asks you.-
I have always bounced around on this bit of scripture, never really finding that one explanation that drops into place with an unquestionable “click”. This explanation is yet another possible that I can chew on. Thank you for sharing! -
