“But even if our gospel is hidden , it is hidden to those who are perishing;
Among them, the god of this world , has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, to prevent them from seeing the illuminating light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.”
2 Corinthians chapter 4 explains clearly to us why some people cannot see, hear, or understand the truth even when it is painfully obvious. It is not BECAUSE they are dumb, stupid, or foolish, it is because the god of this world has blinded their minds!
If Satan has done the blinding, do you really think that you are going to enlighten them through an argument?
This battle starts in your prayer time. Please remember what we are taught in Ephesians chapter 6:
“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood , but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) places.”
Matthew chapter 16 encourages us that “The gates of hell shall not prevail against us”! This simple truth reminds us that the battle is ours IF WE GO ON THE OFFENSIVE!
We can take back what the enemy has blinded (stolen), but we need to be on the offensive, not coasting aimlessly.
There is a quote that I enjoy that says “how do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time”. This analogy fits here as well. The huge pool of people who have been blinded by the god of this world may seem like an elephant, but if we all pick somebody and begin to spiritually break down the gates of hell that blind (imprison) them, each person who is freed is another bite out of the elephant.
Begin to break down the gates of hell that surround you and the people who you love!
Eternal freedom is what is at stake.
